Chelsea summer signing Pedro has admitted that he chose to snub Manchester United in hopes of winning more trophies with his current side, Daily Star reports.
The 28-year-old was on the verge of completing a switch to Old Trafford from Barcelona, but instead decided to join their league rivals.
Apart from the two mentioned sides, Manchester City were also amongst the clubs that made a move for his services, but he also snubbed the current league leaders.
Pedro revealed that he chose to join the Blues because it was his best option in achieving success and winning more trophies when being compared with other interested parties.
“I had options, but this was the best. Chelsea have won many trophies and I think I have an opportunity to win more here with the club,” he told Chelsea’s magazine.
However, the current Premier League champions have begun their title defence very badly, picking up only one win from their last five fixtures.
They are now sitting 17th in the league, while both Manchester clubs are doing quite well, with City leading the pack and United following closely behind in third.
