Chelsea star Branislav Ivanovic has claimed that he will kick Premier League top scorer Jamie Vardy if it means helping his team beat Leicester City, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The Blues will travel to the KingPower Stadium to face an in-form Foxes on Monday, with Claudio Raneiri’s men only one point off league leaders Arsenal before the fixture.
This means that a win for Leicester will see them once again top the table, while the champions are currently just one point away from the relegation zone following this past weekend’s results.
Leicester’s incredible rise to the top has been helped by the form of Vardy, who previously broke Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10 consecutive Premier League games.
However, Chelsea defender Ivanovic has vowed to do everything in his power to stop the England international in order to help his side climb up the table.
“If this helps, yes,” the Serbian said. “Some of the strikers don’t like [it] when you kick [them]. You kill their confidence.
“Vardy at the moment is running a lot and is making the space for other players as well. They are confident. I think it will be very hard.”
