According to South London Today, Patrick Bamford has cut short his loan period with Crystal Palace.
Bamford has had an indifferent spell with Crystal Palace and has opted to return to Chelsea so he can push for more first team minutes or be loaned out to a club where he will receive more first team minutes.
After a successful loan spell at Middlesbrough last season, Chelsea and Bamford thought it was the time for him to make a step up to the Premiership but he failed to win over either Alan Pardew or the Selhurst Park fan base.
Bamford was not given a single league start during the first half of the campaign and may look at Chelsea’s shortage of striking cover for Diego Costa as an opportunity for him to gain some regular minutes at Stamford Bridge.
The youngster will not be short of teams making offers for his services in January and the departure of Jose Mourinho might mean that Bamford has improved odds of getting minutes at the Blues.
