Chelsea steal march on Arsenal and Man United for 23-capped German superstar

The Daily Mirror have revealed that Chelsea are now the front-runners for Borussia Dortmund’s highly rated German international Marco Reus following ‘behind-the-scenes’ talks with the former Borussia Monchengladbach player.

Jose Mourinho & co are believed to have put together a £130,000-a-week contract to tempt Reus to swap the Bundesliga for the Premier League, however, Chelsea will still face stiff competition from Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal.

Reus, who is currently out injured until 2015, has a £20million release fee clause in his current contract and may well fancy a new challenge given Jurgen Klopp’s side current troubles in the Bundesliga – a Friday night win over Hoffenheim took Dortmund off of the bottom of Germany’s top flight.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder is currently in his third season with Borussia Dortmund, and has bagged an impressive 33 goals and 22 assists during that period.
