Chelsea stopper expects to come back to London this summer

On loan Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has admitted to having no emotional attachment to Chelsea although expects to return this summer, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Courtois will play his final game for Atletico tonight in the Champions League final against rivals Real Madrid in Lisbon.

The 22 year old has only ever been to London once – to complete his Chelsea medical – but is planning on returning for good this summer.

Chelsea do not want to loan out their impressive stopper again but also are not willing to let Petr Cech leave.

Courtois has admitted that he does not yet feel like a Chelsea player and he wants his future sorted out immediately after this weekend with the World Cup looming.

“The fans and the other players at Atletico don’t see me as a player out on loan.

“At Chelsea I have no emotional connection. They signed me up in 2011, nine million euros. Since then I’ve gone to London only for the medical check.

“Already last year Chelsea no longer wanted to loan. But I wanted to stay in Madrid. After this season, it all goes back over again, and it is probably even more difficult to make a decision.”
