Chelsea have made an offer of £25.7million for Valencia’s Andre Gomes in order to reinforce their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign, according to reports from the Metro.
The 21-year-old is known for his ability to control the midfield with his direct passing, and is said to have alerted Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
Gomes has been a scouting target for the London club ever since he completed a move from Benfica to Valencia in 2014.
However, Valencia are still considering the £25.7million offer and may decide to reject it in case his price rises even higher.
Despite that, Mourinho is likely to table another bid in hopes that the La Liga side will be open to negotiations ahead of the upcoming summer window.
The midfield play-maker has already made 24 appearances out of a possible 28 league matches, scoring four goals and providing one assist so far this season.
