The Colombian has been linked with a number of the game’s top clubs in the last few months, with both Chelsea and Manchester City thought to be preparing to make bids for him, while big-spending French outfit Monaco are also interested.
Simeone admits he may struggle to keep hold of his star asset but says he will not be offended if the striker does choose to go.
“I don’t know anything official yet,” he said. “I’ve known him since he was a child and I wish him all the best.
“If he feels that he needs to make a move, I’ll be happy for him. If he stays with us, I’ll be happy too.”
