Chelsea and Juventus are set to battle it out for £25million Roma star Radja Nainggolan this summer, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Nainggolan has been heavily linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico in recent weeks, with incoming Blues manager Antonio Conte a big fan of the Belgium international.
However, the current Premier League champions will face some competition from Juve, who are also keen on the defensive midfielder.
Chelsea may have an advantage in the pursuit though, as Nainggolan has argued with Juventus fans in the past via Twitter, in which the 27-year-old mocked the Old Lady for letting him join Roma when he was co-owned by Cagliari.
He controversially said: “I don’t think it’s necessary to go into a star-studded team to win a trophy. I am in a great side and I want to win with the Giallorossi,’ he said in July.
“For me it’s better to win one trophy at Roma than 10 at Juventus.”
The Blues are looking to sign an anchorman amid Nemanja Matic and John Obi Mikel’s poor form this season, especially with the former being unable to replicate the displays that got him into the PFA Team of the Year last term.
Nainggolan, valued at £25million, made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals.
