Chelsea to join Arsenal in race for 31-goal France international

Chelsea are considering a January move to sign Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon to add to their front line, according to reports from the Express.

The 24-year-old caught the eye of a number of other Premier League clubs as well, with Manchester United and Liverpool also being linked with the striker.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho looks to reinforce his squad with more attacking options given that the signing of Pedro from Barcelona was his only major addition.

The current Premier League champions have struggled to find form this season, losing three out of their first six matches.

Lacazette was one of the top striking targets during the summer due to his lethal finish for the French giants, scoring a total of 31 goals from 40 matches in all competitions last term.

Apart from Pedro, Mourinho also completed deals for Asmir Begovic, Baba Rahman, and Papy Djilobodji, with Radamel Falcao joining on loan from Monaco following a spell at United.
