Chelsea to make move to rectify 2014 ‘mistake’

Antonio Conte wants to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea when he takes over as manager, the Sun reports.

The Belgian left Chelsea in 2014 and it has been reported that Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, thinks that Jose Mourinho made a mistake by selling the striker to Everton. Lukaku recently scored the goal to knock Chelsea out of the FA Cup and the club are looking to invest heavily as they try to recover from their abysmal season, that has seen them fall far short of defending their Premier League title.

Michael Emenalo helped sign Lukaku in 2011 and it is thought that he is also keen to bring the Belgian back to the English champions.

Everton are unlikely to let their star man leave cheaply and it is likely that they would demand at least double the fee that they paid for the forward. Whilst Diego Costa is still at the club, it is hard to see where Lukaku would fit in.
