Chelsea are believed to be preparing an offer to try and steal Kevin Strootman from Manchester United’s grasp as they plan to lure him to Stamford Bridge in January, Daily Star reports.
The 24-year-old has constantly been linked with a move to Old Trafford ever since Louis van Gaal took over at the club and it said to be considering a move to the Premier League.
However, United are not alone in their chase for his signature as Jose Mourinho is also keen on adding the midfield general into his squad.
Both clubs would need to consider a bid of around £30million in order for negotiations to begin with the price likely to rise due to the added interest from the Blues.
Van Gaal will have a little edge over his league rivals as he has already worked with the Dutch ace during his time managing the Netherlands national team.
