Chelsea to up the ante with striker bid

Chelsea’s desire to finally make a signing this summer has them possibly returning to an earlier target with an improved offer.

The Daily Mail is today reporting the Blue’s have upped their offer for the teenage Belgian sensation Romelu Lukaku, as manager Andre Villas Boas looks to boost his striking options. Chelsea had an initial bid of £18 million turned down by Anderlecht but they have now returned to the table with an improved £20 million offer.

Anderlecht have been resigned to lose their star man for a while with Lukaku attracting the attention of Europe’s top clubs in the last 12 months. It is thought that they are targeting Liverpool misfit Milan Jovanovic as Lukaku’s replacement.
