Chelsea are set to increase their offer for Bayer Leverkusen attacker Andre Schurrle to £20 million, according to The Daily Mail.
The west London club are eager to add a new forward to their changing squad to replace the departed Didier Drogba, and have already had a bid of £16 million rejected by the BayArena side.
However, Roman Abramovich is refusing to give up on the Germany international, and will return to the Bundesliga side with an improved offer to test their resolve.
Schurrle has impressed domestically and was part of Joachim Low’s Germany squad at Euro 2012, but only played in one match.
Chelsea continue to try to add Wigan’s Victor Moses and Marseille right-back Cesar Azpilicueta to their contingent also this summer.
