Chelsea told to look elsewhere as Premier League rivals reject approach

Chelsea have already faced transfer rejection this summer as their early approaches for Dimitri Payet have quickly been rejected by West Ham, according to Mirror Sport.

It is reported that Chelsea scouts have been pushing Antonio Conte towards a move for West Ham’s star man and, despite the riches of Chelsea, West Ham are believed to be resolute.

The Hammers aren’t even prepared to put a valuation on their player because they don’t want to risk tempting clubs in to a bid.

Meanwhile, Conte’s Italy team defended their way to an impressive victory in the first round of European Championship fixtures on Monday night and the prospect of combining that defensive structure with Payet’s attacking spark would have Chelsea fans particularly excited.

The Blues and Hammers are big rivals in the capital city and that is likely to make any potential deal even harder to reach for Chelsea. Could this be a long-running saga?
