Chelsea have turned down an offer of £30 million from Manchester City for defender David Luiz, The Sun claim.
The Premier League champions are eager to add cover at centre-half, as Roberto Mancini looks for additional competition for Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott.
The Etihad Stadium outfit have been frustrated in attempts to sign Liverpool duo Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger, and are roaming for other potential candidates.
Luiz, who did not feature for the Blues against Reading on Wednesday night, is said to have emerged as a potential target, and City have made an offer of £30 million.
However, Roberto Di Matteo does not want to sell the Brazilian and has spurned the offer.
