Chelsea turns to Romanian ace to fill defensive void

Since the news of Ashley Cole not extending his contract at Chelsea, the club have been in search for a left back and is now believed to be monitoring the likes of Iasmin Latovlevici, Mirror reports.

Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to the possible vacant left back slot as his list for candidates begin to grow longer and longer.

The Blues seem to have already landed Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis, but is still interested in bringing Latovlevici as adequate cover.

With only one year left on his current contract with Steaua Bucharest, Latovlevici’s move to Stamford Bridge could be a very big possibility after the 28-year-old put on a solid display when the two teams met earlier the previous season.

Right back Cesar Azpilicueta was often seen playing the role on the opposite flank and could now be used in his more favoured position should the London side sign some more reinforcements.
