Chelsea have launched a £15.5 million bid for Napoli star Jose Callejon, according to Metro.
The Spain international has been impressing in Naples over the last number of years and has built up a steady reputation of scoring goals consistently from midfield and wide areas.
The attacking midfielder worked with Jose Mourinho during their mutual time at Real Madrid, with the Portuguese manager rating Callejon highly.
With Chelsea’s options on the right-hand side of midfield not completely convincing due to the poor form of Juan Cuadrado, Mourinho is eyeing up a reunion with Callejon at Stamford Bridge.
With Napoli failing to qualify for this season’s Champions League, the Spain international would surely relish the opportunity to move to the English champions ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
Callejon has also been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid of late and it seems like his future is away from the Stadio San Paolo.
