Chelsea’s World Cup youngster set to be farmed out again

Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo is set to rejoin Middlesbrough on loan for the 2014/15 campaign, as reported by BBC Sport.

Omeruo was in fine form during the World Cup for Nigeria and has done his reputation no harm at all.

It was thought that Jose Mourinho could introduce the 20-year-old to his first team squad this summer, especially with the departure of David Luiz, however Boro boss Aitor Karanka has dismissed that.

Karanka is hopeful to get a loan deal done to bring the physical centre back to the Riverside for a second season after he impressed towards the back end of the last campaign.

“He wants to join us, Chelsea want to send the player and so for this reason I don’t think we have problems in getting Ken again,” said Karanka.

“I don’t like him because he played a very good World Cup, I like him because he is a very good guy.

“He’s a player who everybody knows here, everybody likes him and for this reason he is a player I want to take again.”
