Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is believed to be a doubt for Euro 2012, as the groin injury he picked up against Swansea on Sunday is worse than expected, according to The Daily Mail.
The versatile stopper is in contention for the England squad that travels to Ukraine and Poland, but after limping through the final stages of the clash at Old Trafford at the weekend will be tested over the next couple of days to see how long he needs to spend on the sidelines.
Smalling will certainly miss the last game of the season for the Red Devils against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, but Rio Ferdinand has been passed fit to feature.
The England squad for Euro 2012 will be named at the start of next week by new manager Roy Hodgson.
