Liverpool summer signing Christian Poulsen is determined to improve on a tricky first few months in English football.

The 30-year-old Denmark international has struggled to adapt since his arrival from Juventus, but is determined to show Reds' fans his true worth.

He told the club's official website:"I'm still trying to settle in. I have only been here for three months and it has been a very hard start, not just for me but also for the club.

"We are struggling to get back up the league and I haven't done as well as I would have liked.

"There have been many changes here. The coach is new, the owners are new and it is up to me to keep learning about how to play in the Premier League.

"I'm trying to do my best every single day. I know Liverpool are a great club and I hope that, after some time, I can improve and I can be help for the team.

"Do I feel I have to prove myself? Yes, for sure. I have got to work harder because I have been brought in.

"People knew that I played for Juventus, but that still means I have got to earn my stripes here."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
