Manchester United and Manchester City have been alerted by the news in Spain that Cristiano Ronaldo is unhappy at Real Madrid, The Sun claim.
The Portugal international scored a brace in Los Blancos’ win over Granada at the weekend but did not celebrate, revealing after the game that he was sad and unhappy.
“I am sad and the people at the club know about it. It’s about professional issues. I can’t say any more,” he told local reporters after the game.
It is believed that Ronaldo sat down with Madrid president Florentino Perez on Monday, with rumblings that the talented forward has asked to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ronaldo has three years left on his contract in the Spanish capital but is thought to be frustrated that the La Liga champions have not looked to renew his current deal.
Given the quality of Ronaldo and the fact that he may be available, both Manchester clubs are monitoring the situation and ready to make a January offer to bring the Portuguese attacker back to the Premier League.
