Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has made an official enquiry over the availability of Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, Express reports.
Reus was one of the most in-demand players during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool all keen on signing the attacking midfielder.
However the German is looking for a new lucrative contract, which Dortmund have yet to offer to the 25-year-old.
The former Borussia Mönchengladbach ace is contracted until 2017, but with a £20million release clause activating next summer, Reus could easily be persuaded to leave the Westfalenstadion.
The Germany international, who missed the World Cup with an injury, is still out of action after sustaining additional ankle ligament damage in a qualifier against Scotland last month.
However despite his injury issues, Reus is still a highly coveted player after scoring 23 goals and supplying 18 assists in 45 appearances last season.
Betting company Paddy Power have given odds of 16/1 for Man City and Chelsea to successfully lure Reus to the Etihad next summer, with Arsenal the most likely English side to sign the Dortmund star at 5/1.
