Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been impressed with defender Aleksandar Kolarov since joining the Premier League side and will offer the Serbian star a new contract in the near future, according to The Mirror.
The Catalan trainer has arrived at the Etihad Stadium and wasted little time in showing his desire to win silverware, with the Citizens coming out of the blocks at a ferocious pace this season.
Kolarov has been a virtual ever-present in the City line-up under Guardiola and has even been deployed as a centre-half on occasion by the new manager.
The former Fiorentina defender has been a feature of the Etihad Stadium club’s success over a number of years and provides a stellar attacking outlet from the flanks and excellent dead-ball delivery.
The latest report suggests that Guardiola will look to ensure that Kolarov is part of his long-term project by extending his current contract and offering the star improved terms with the Premier League side.
