Roberto Mancini is remaining tight-lipped on reports linking Manchester City with a move for Patrick Vieira until after Wednesday's Carling Cup showdown with Manchester United.

City host their near-neighbours in a semi-final first leg at Eastlands in midweek and Mancini claims he is 100 per cent focussed on the match.

Former Arsenal captain Vieira is reported to be considering an 18-month deal from City to return to England.

The 33-year-old France midfielder is unhappy at a lack of first-team action with Internazionale - Mancini's former club - this season.

The Italian coach has also been linked with a move for Inter's Colombia defender Ivan Cordoba.

But despite being linked with a host of players mainly from Serie A clubs this month, Mancini is keeping silent on who he hopes to sign in the transfer window.

"People are not only talking about Patrick Vieira, they are also saying Ivan Cordoba and Cristian Chivu," he said.

"They are all good players but the most important thing for me is the match against Manchester United.

"The other things we can talk about with the club after the derby. We will see then."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
