Newcastle United fans may not be too happy to hear this, but club sources state that Mike Ashley has given Alan Pardew his full backing despite rumours that he would be sacked if the situation doesn’t improve, Daily Star reports.
Even though the Magpies faithful has been calling out for his sacking, the decision to part ways with the manager never seemed to have crossed the owners mind.
A Newcastle source was quoted: “When Mike handed Alan Pardew an eight-year contract, he knew there would be some dark times.
“And the past week has been one of those times. He was not at all happy with the Southampton performance and can understand why fans are protesting.
“But he is asking for patience. That is the word he keeps stressing.
“Mike does not believe sacking the manager is the solution right now.”
Things could be looking up for Pardew as he was 17 minutes away from a 2-0 loss to Hull City before substitute Papiss Cisse scored a superb double to earn his side a point.
