As reported by The Daily Express, Chelsea’s summer plans and ambitions for next season could be thrown into chaos with Antonio Conte refusing to commit his future to the club.
It’s fair to say Conte’s first season in charge of the Blues has been a roaring success, demonstrated perfectly by the fact they will lift the English Premier League trophy later today.
However, it may not be the extended era Chelsea fans hoped it would be according to reports from The Daily Express. They say his future at Stamford Bridge is in doubt and that Inter Milan are circling, ready to pay big money in order to lure him away from England.
Further to that, Conte has refused to rule out leaving the club in the summer, dropping a big hint that he still desires some sort of future in Italy down the line.
As quoted by The Express, he said:
If I will stay here in London, I want them (family) to be with me. I am not going to stay here on my own for another year. I am proud Italy fans love me. Speculation over my future are normal. I am in love with Italy, I feel my country in my heart.
The paper reckon that Inter are willing to pay the Italian up to £20m in order for him to return to his homeland.
Losing a new icon would be a bitter blow to supporters and the club, who have been looking forward to a sustained period of success following the departure of Jose Mourinho last season.
Will today be his final match in charge? Or will the Blues boss be on board for a tilt at the UEFA Champions League next term?
