Fulham manager Roy Hodgson hopes to complete the loan capture of Roma striker Stefano Okaka next week.

The 20-year-old, who has been a long-time target of the Cottagers boss, will stay with the club until the end of the season.

Hodgson said of his hopes of snapping up the Italy Under-21 international:"The deal is on. It was never really off but there have been a lot of problems to iron out.

"At the moment he's finishing off a medical. Barring any problems with the medical I expect him to join us from Monday.

"He won't be in line to play against Aston Villa tomorrow as Roma want him available for their game on Sunday."

Okaka has made 40 appearances for the side from the Italian capital although 31 of those have been from the substitute's bench.

He started both of Roma's Europa League clashes with Fulham earlier in the season.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
