Boss Owen Coyle is doubtful over whether a permanent deal can be struck to bring Croatia striker Ivan Klasnic back to Bolton Wanderers next season.
The 30-year-old netted eight goals in 32 appearances last season, before returning to French club Nantes at the end of the campaign.
Coyle told the Bolton News:“I have left it in the hands of the chairman. It was a loan last year that involved a lot of finance.
“Ivan is on a terrific contract at the moment and not one that Bolton Wanderers Football Club could afford to pay.
“But we’ll have to wait and see what happens because these things can move very quickly.
“On a football level, if it was a simple matter of picking which players I’d like to have in my squad, then of course I’d bring Ivan back in a second.
“Ivan is a good player, a great lad and he scores goals wherever he goes.”
