Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge is targeting to return to action against Manchester United in just one month’s time, according to reports from the Mirror.
Sturridge spent a majority of last season out with various injuries, and before the summer the England international underwent a surgery to fix a chronic hip problem.
It was expected that the 25-year-old will have to sit out till November in order to recover, but after intensive rehabilitation Sturridge is set to return much sooner than previously assumed.
The former Chelsea striker will be flown back to England from the United States when the season kicks off this weekend, and should be able to resume full training by the end of the month.
This makes the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford on September 12 an extremely possible return date for Sturridge, who played his last game for the Reds against Blackburn Rovers back in April.
Sturridge only played 12 games in the Premier League last season, scoring four goals.
