Manchester United have received a huge boost with the return of Luke Shaw, who participated in training for the first time since breaking his leg against PSV Eindhoven back in September, according to reports from the BBC.
Shaw sustained a double fracture to his right leg after a challenge from PSV’s Hector Moreno in a Champions League fixture seven months ago, with the England international expected to not play again for the rest of the campaign.
However, the left-back could be in contention for the last few games of the season after teammate Juan Mata shared a picture on Instagram showcasing his return to training.
“My friend Luke Shaw just came in from running out on the pitch! Getting closer,” he captioned.
The 20-year-old is still being considered for England’s Euro 2016 squad, but Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson wants Shaw to prove his fitness with the Red Devils before the tournament.
Shaw was signed from Southampton back in the summer of 2014 for a massive £27million when he was just 18 years old.
