Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has hinted that he is close to completing his fifth deal of the summer, according to reports from the Daily Star.
He has been quite busy over the course of the current window, securing moves for Yohan Cabaye, Patrick Bamford, Alex McCarthy, and Connor Wickham.
However, the former Newcastle United manager is looking to add yet another player into his ranks as he admits that he will only name him once the switch is confirmed.
“I’d like to think we’d get one done today,” he said.
“I know you’ve been pushing me on it but I’m not going to give you a name because I never do until they are completely done.
“If we can get him over the line he’s an exciting player as well. I’ll be looking forward to seeing him.”
Pardew enjoyed a successful spell in charge of the Eagles last term, helping them finish in 10th place as he now aims to improve on their performance for the upcoming campaign.
He also added that he will be looking to add just one more player into his squad as he feels his current selection can get the job done.
“We’ve got a bit more business to do.
“We might have to bring one more in but we’re pretty close.”
