Crystal Palace star Emmanuel Adebayor is ready to celebrate if he manages to score a goal against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, Express reports.
The 31-year-old joined his new side during the January window on a free transfer and is set to feature against his former side in the FA Cup Fifth round on Sunday.
Adebayor revealed that he has a number of good memories from his time at White Hart Lane, but was unhappy at the way club chairman Daniel Levy handled his exit.
He also added that he was prepared to celebrate as he aims to help his new team progress into the latter stages of the competitions.
“I play football, why am I not going to celebrate against Tottenham?” he said.
“Today I don’t play for Tottenham. Scoring goals is what I do best in my career. If I score against Tottenham, trust me, I’m going to celebrate.
“If I’m on the pitch and I score and not going to celebrate I would rather tell the manager I’m not going to play because what is the point of being on the pitch, scoring goals and not celebrating?”
The striker managed to net his first goal for the Eagles in his third appearance during the 2-1 defeat to Watford last weekend.
He featured about 59 times for the senior squad during this time with Spurs, managing to register a total of 18 goals in the process.
