Wales international midfielder Dave Edwards has signed a new three-year contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers, with an option in place for a further 12 months.

The 24-year-old has been at Molineux since January 2008, scoring five times in 80 appearances since his arrival from Luton Town.

Edwards told the club's official website:"I'm delighted it's all done and dusted now. We've been in talks for quite a while and it's great that it's got done and I can look forward to the future.

"It's a great confidence booster to feel wanted at a club. I've loved every minute of being here and for the gaffer to say he wants to offer me a new contract shows he's got faith in me.

"Hopefully I can repay that by getting in the team and putting in some performances.

"It's nice to be approached and sign longer deals which give you that little bit more security.

"Wolves are a good club for keeping the squad together and offering deals to players who are working as hard as they can for the good of the club."
