Romelu Lukaku could be on his way to Goodison Park in the January transfer window if reports are to be believed. The powerful Belgian forward signed for Chelsea for around £18m in the summer but is yet to start a league game for the club.

The eighteen year old has been compared to his idol Didier Drogba but so far is yet to make an impression on Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas. With cash-strapped Everton looking for players to bolster their attacking line up and Villas-Boas needing Lukaku to get some Premier League experience the deal will be mutually beneficial for the clubs and David Moyes is hopeful that he can broker a deal to bring the young striker to Everton on loan for the rest of the season.

A similar deal worked wonders for Chelsea team mate Daniel Sturridge last season and there is no short of interest in Chelsea’s latest signing. With no hint of an opening in the Chelsea team for Lukaku it is thought that the striker would be interested in going out on loan and Stoke have emerged as competition for the Belgian’s services. The towering centre forward could certainly benefit from Stoke’s style of play and rumour has it they are desperate to convince Lukaku and Chelsea to choose them over Moyes’ side.
