Portsmouth manager Paul Hart thought his side thoroughly deserved their 4-0 victory against Wigan Athletic.
An Aruna Dindane hat-trick and Frederic Piquionne goal helped rock-bottom Pompey record only their second win of the campaign and first at Fratton Park.
"We're delighted with the result," said Hart."It was pretty satisfying.
"I've tried to explain after games how we've failed to get three points, but today we got our rewards for our belief in the way we play.
"I thought we thoroughly deserved it and anyone who has watched the team over the past few weeks would have to agree.
"It was refreshing to have come off and got something for the hard work that we've put in.
"Everyone worked their socks off and we took our chances when it mattered."
