Liverpool look to have been boosted in their chase to sign Neven Subotic following revelations made by the Borussia Dortmund ace, Daily Star reports.
The 26-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for the Reds after he has been struggling to hold down a regular role under manager Thomas Tuchel.
It is believed that Subotic could leave the Bundesliga giants in favour of a possible switch to Anfield after he revealed his desire to feature on a more consistent basis.
“I would love to play, and I fight all the time. I can’t do anything more,” he said.
“Right now is not the time for transfer thoughts because we still have a few games until the winter break.”
Should he make the move, he would then have another chance to work under former Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, who was recently appointed manager of the club.
The Serbian centre-back has only managed to register two league appearances from a possible 15 matches this term.
Klopp has been linked with a host of players from the German side, with Marco Reus, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Mats Hummels also being tipped for a switch.
