Reports suggest Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor has been told he can leave Manchester City just 12 months after joining the club from Arsenal.
Juventus are believed to be leading the race to sign the striker, although AC Milan are also reportedly interested in reviving their interest in the player.
However, Adebayor's £130,000-a-week wages mean a loan arrangement is the most likely option.
City boss Roberto Mancini is desperately trying to offload many of last season's first-team squad as he attempts to comply with new Premier League rules that allow a maximum of 25 players.
Adebayor, 26, cost £25million last summer and has already been the subject of a loan bid from Marseille.
He scored 14 goals last season, which was mired in personal controversy and a series of injuries.
