Football fans dashing back from holiday will be able to buy tickets with leftover Euros in a football first.  AFC Bournemouth and Capital One are helping Cherries fans who are dashing back just in time for their Capital One Cup Round 1 fixture with Portsmouth on Tuesday 6th August by making a number of tickets available to purchase on the night with Euros.

Research by Capital One – credit card company and League Cup sponsor - shows almost half (47%) of AFC Bournemouth match goers have cut their holiday short to make it back in time for kick off. The club and Capital One have teamed together to ensure their fans won’t have to make a stop at the Bureau de Change on route to the Goldsands Stadium. Adults will be able to pay €14, concessions €9 and u16’s €7 to watch the highly anticipated clash.

The research showed that nationally 43% of fans who regularly  attend games will book their holidays with the football calendar in mind and there’s no escaping the football whilst they are away with 41% of fans saying they’ve taken a whole day out of their holiday to enjoy a game.

Liz Finney, AFC Bournemouth General Manager, said: “We know at AFC Bournemouth a lot of our fans will be cutting it fine to make it back from their holidays in time for the game. Now they can spend their left over holiday money on watching a great game of football”.

Michael Woodburn, Chief Marketing Officer at Capital One, added: “We know that there will be a number of AFC Bournemouth fans rushing straight back from holiday for the club’s Capital One Cup fixture with Portsmouth, hopefully this will make their life easier and mean they don’t have to miss out on what promises to be an exciting football match.”
