Championship side Watford could make Thomas Hitzlsperger as their 12th loan signing of the season as a bid to push for promotion.
The ex-German international who has a notoriously thunderous left strike is currently in talks with Watford over the loan. The 30 year old has only managed nine appearances for Everton this after being released by Wolfsburg last season. This will be a great opportunity for both parties as Hitzlsperger is no stranger to the English League. With previous experiences at both Aston Villa and West Ham Hitzlsperger could provide Watford with the stability needed to see through promotion.
Watford controversially already have 11 players on loan, this is mainly due to owner Gino Pozzo’s stakes in Udinese in Italy and Grenada in Spain. This is a great way of players of those clubs to gain vital experience, however the football league and rival managers have voiced their concerns over the acceptance of this. As a result, the Football League will be imposing severe restrictions next season to make sure a team cannot exploit the loan system again.
Watford are currently in third, two points adrift of automatic promotion.
