Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to rescue Keisuke Honda from AC Milan after he revealed his frustrations over his role on the bench, Express reports.
The 29-year-old has been finding it very difficult to hold down a regular place in the squad following the appointment of manager Sinisa Mihajlovic.
It is believed that the two mentioned Premier League clubs are ready to step up their chase to sign the midfielder given that they may be able to lure him with the promise of more playing time.
Honda only managed to register four starts while featuring a further five times from the bench out of a possible 12 Serie A matches.
He could now be pushing for an exit in the January window given that he recently came out to reveal that his situation is not easy as he is constantly being left out of the starting 11.
“The situation is not easy,” he said.
“To be on the bench for so many matches is something that has never happened [to me before].
“I’m beginning to understand how it feels to be on the outside.”
The Japan international completed his move from Russian giants CSKA Moscow back in 2013, but could now be on the verge of a switch to the English top flight.
