Everton and West Ham on alert as Serb is set for move

Adem Ljajic

Fiorentina co-owner Andrea Della Valle has confirmed that striker Adem Ljajic will be leaving the club before the end of the transfer window, as reported by Sky Sports.

The Serbian forward notched 12 times last season but is out of contract at the end of this campaign and has ruled out the chance of signing an extension, leaving the Serie A club with no choice but to take the money they can get from him now.

The 21 year old had a trial with Manchester United in his youth and is wanted by a number of clubs around Europe with West Ham, Everton and Cardiff City leading the race from the Premier League.

The Viola wouldn’t have much say in the price for the player being desperate to get rid of him for any fee and so a late bargain could be available this summer.

“Ljajic? I cannot give any answers right now, but there are several different options available,” Della Valle said.

“Ljajic could still stay at Fiorentina, though there’s not much chance of that happening.”
