Everton have been boosted by the return of Leighton Baines after he was unable to feature for six months due to injury, Express reports.
The 30-year-old was forced to undergo two separate surgeries to fix a problem in his ankle as he now edges closer to making a return.
Baines featured for his side in a behind-closed-door match against Preston and even managed to register one goal in the 4-3 victory.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is said to be ready to set up another match in order to see whether the England international is ready to make his comeback.
Should he perform well in training, he could make his return following the international break when his team face Aston Villa on November 21st.
He is yet to feature a single time for his side this term, with 19-year-old Brendan Galloway filling in at left-back, making 11 appearances from a possible 12 so far (whoscored.com).
