Everton boss believes England youngster will thrive at the World Cup

Everton manager Roberto Martinez reckons midfielder Ross Barkley has everything in his locker to become a hit at the World Cup this summer, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

The Toffees midfielder has plenty of competition for places with the likes of Adam Lallana, Jack Wilshere and Frank Lampard but boss Roy Hodgson appears to like the 20-year-old.

Martinez feels that his key man has everything, technically and physically, to become one of the star names at the World Cup.

The Everton boss will be in Brazil working as a pundit and is looking forward to seeing how Hodgson uses Barkley in an improving side.

“Ross is so good, a chef could manage him,” Martinez said.

“Ross has been outstanding for Everton and there is no doubt he is a special talent that any manager or coach would love to have.

“Roy Hodgson will know how best to use him and if he gets his chance I am certain he will be ready. Nothing fazes him.

“He is as good a talent as you could wish to have. He has everything, technically and physically. He has the control, strength and composure. All you have to do is give him the environment to fulfil his potential.”
