Everton manager David Moyes is hopeful that midfielder Marouane Fellaini will still be at Goodison Park at the start of next season.
Fellaini has been in sterling form this season and the clubs in the top four are set to approach the Toffee’s at the end of the season.
The Belgian international is rumoured to have a £23million release clause in his current Everton deal and so Manchester United and Chelsea will be on alert, ready to pounce.
Moyes himself is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal at Goodison Park and so any transfer business is unlikely to be completed until that is sorted.
The Everton boss has been linked with Chelsea, like Fellaini, but there is good chance both will still be on Merseyside next season.
“He is a big part of our squad not only because of his size but also because of how important he is to us and he is someone that we will be more than happy to see here again next year at Goodison,” Moyes told the Express.
