Everton boss rules out summer sales

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has dismissed talk of star sales in the summer, as reported by Sky Sports.

The Toffees have impressed this season under Martinez and are leading the race for the Europa League, with them even hoping rivals Liverpool get a result at Manchester United today.

A last gasp winner from player of the season Seamus Coleman against Cardiff yesterday kept them on track, but Coleman is one of a number of players linked with summer moves away from Goodison Park.

Ross Barkley, Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka are also rumoured to be targets of big clubs at the end of the season, however Martinez has ruled out the chance of him selling key players.

“We want to keep every player who is part of our future and has performed well,” Martinez said in The Sun.

“Financially we are in the strongest moment we have been for a long time.

“I would be worried if we had four or five players performing really well who were out of contract, but most are on long-term deals.”
