Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that two clubs have made an approach to try and sign Samuel Eto’o after it is believed he is considering an exit, Skysports reports.
The 33-year-old left Chelsea at the end of last season when his contract ran out and joined the Toffees on a free transfer, but could once again be in search of a new club after losing a regular team place.
Martinez revealed that he had been contacted over the potential sale of the former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker, but is still considering his options in regards to his future.
He said: “A couple of clubs have contacted us in last 12 hours about signing Eto’o.
“We have to sit down and discuss what to do. I decided it was best he wasn’t involved tonight. He will continue to train with us. He hasn’t asked to leave.”
Eto’o started his Goodison Park career on a high note, impressing his manager, but was unable to continue his form, tallying only four goals in a total of 20 appearances in all competitions.
