Everton are monitoring the situation of out-of-favour Manchester United star Nani, who is currently on loan at Sporting Lisbon, according to the Daily Star.
The 28-year-old was sent back to his former club by manager Louis van Gaal during the summer, as he was unable to prove himself under the new boss.
His career was also put on hold after suffering a number of hamstring injuries, and the arrivals of Angel Di Maria and Juan Mata, along with the breakthrough of academy starlet Adnan Januzaj, eventually fuelled his decision to leave on loan.
Despite Nani being back on-form for Sporting, it is unlikely that he will make the move permanent with the Portuguese side are unable to match his wages, a factor that has now led Roberto Martinez to begin scouting the winger.
The Toffees boss is keen on adding another speed merchant to play on wings after recently signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Aaron Lennon in January.
However, his £15million price tag is believed to be a concern for Martinez, as he may need to consider selling another player in order to fund the deal.
