Everton line up move for Portuguese ace

Joao Aurelio (Nacional)Everton are lining up a move for Nacional right-back Joao Aurelio, according to reports from TuttoMercato.

Toffees chief Roberto Martinez is believed to be in the market for additions in January as he steps up his plans to push for European qualification.

Aurelio has emerged as one of his top targets, with the 25-year-old having been impressive In the Portuguese top tier.

Everton are bracing themselves for a potential move from Arsenal for current full-back Seamus Coleman, with the Republic of Ireland international having caught Arsene Wenger’s eye.

Although the player himself is thought to be happy at Goodison Park, he may be tempted by a serious offer from the Londoners, who will be able to offer him Champions League football.

Aurelio is believed to be seen as an ideal replacement by Martinez, and a player who can fit his current playing style at the club.

The former Portugal U-21 international is said to be valued at around £1.3m, and is likely to be open to a switch to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Everton are thought to be looking to offload Nikica Jelavic.

The Croatian striker has struggled to make an impact under Martinez, and is attracting attention from West Ham.
