Everton are considering a move to sign Swansea City star Ashley Williams as a potential replacement for Chelsea target John Stones, according to reports from the Mirror.
The 30-year-old could be brought to Goodison Park in order to fill the void should the Blues manage to lure Stones to Stamford Bridge.
Manager Jose Mourinho has already seen two previous bid for the defender rejected, but the club are still determined to complete his signing.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez earlier revealed that Stones is a vital member of his squad, but could be unable to keep hold of him should the English champions table a bid around the £35million region.
He is said to be a huge admirer of Williams given the fact that he was the one who brought him to Swansea back in 2008 during his time in charge of the side.
The Wales international featured 39 times in all competitions for his club last term and was also linked with a move to Liverpool ahead of the summer window.
