The 27-year-old could be the subject of a January bid from the Toffees given that his contract will expire at the end of the current campaign.
However, the midfielder revealed that his agent is talking with the La Liga outfits in hopes that he can sign an extension before being allowed to leave on a free transfer in the summer.
”I am really comfortable at Sevilla. Here I have found peace and security and I am really happy,” he said.
“Whether they want me to stay or not, I always want to do well on the pitch. My representatives are talking with the club about a renewal, but nothing has been decided yet.”
The Toffees are said to have been tracking the Argentina international for the past few seasons as they could be preparing a move for his services.
It is also believed that Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United are considering a cut-price deal to lure him to their respective sides when the winter window opens.
Banega joined from Valencia last year and has so far made six league appearances for his club this term, scoring two goals while providing one assists (whoscored.com).
